10 Colnago EPS(Sloping Geometry) Frameset Colnago's EPS meets the demands of the biggest and most powerful sprinters like Alessandro Petacchi. Erik Zabel, and 3-time World Champion Oscar Freire. The gorgeous, Italian-made carbon frame features triple-butted, oversize tubing paired with reinforcing ribs on the tube interior for stiffness that rockets you across the finish line first. A sloping, compact frame design and Colnago's oversize chainstays deliver brutal efficiency and comfort at the same time. Colnago's carbon NewStar fork tapers from 1 1/4 inch to 1 1/8 inch for a stiff front end and sniper-like steering. For explosive efforts, steep climbs and everything in between, the EPS delivers it all for the pro racer in all of us.

From the top of the seattube to the middle of the BB is 46cm from the top of the seat LUG(which is 1cm lower than the top of the seattube itself) is 45cm. See the new pictures. This apparently was one of the last models actually made in Italy.

I lived over there. Got into cycling over there and kept some friends and contacts when I moved back. Generally I buy there for my own collection. My own personal bikes and for friends. Their stuff is so much more interesting than what we see here. A cycling friend spotted this at his local bike shop. Which happens to be one of the biggest Colnago dealers in France.

This model is very scarce, as I am sure you know. It was either a floor model or a trade in. There is no damage.
There is scarcely any sign of it having been built, even less that it was ever ridden. I'll ask my friend Daniel for details on how it came to be available. He is very good friends with the shop owner. I'll ship at cost. The cheapest way(from Canada) the buyer is comfortable with. Assuming I can get this into a box 32'x24'x8' the rates to the US should be about $90 for 2-day air. $55 for 7 day ground.
To Europe it appears to be $150 Other international destinations. Up for auction is a very rare frameset: COLNAGO EP S and headsets Colnago + seatclamp colnago+ oryginal fork colnago EPS(frame+fork+headset+seatclamp) This frame has an unique. Beautiful classic gloss white-red painting.

For auction is a used 2010 Colnago EPS. 62 cm c-t seat tube.

20.2 head tube. Frame, fork, headset and spacers, colnago seatpost clamp, and shimano 11 speed bottom bracket included. This is the best bike I've ever ridden.
I hate to get rid of it. But it's slightly too big for me. I'm currently riding a 56 cm eddy merckx emx-5. Super stiff rear end without being harsh. I've ridden all the new oversized bbbright. Bb30, bb386 and none of them compare to the stiffness colnago gets out of a traditional thread on bb. This is last bike built with Italian ATR carbon tubes, the new Colnagos have asian tubes.
External cables are also a plus if you work on your own bike. Original retail price for the frame and fork was $5500.
Bottom backet. Has been professionally faced and the steer tube is cut so that you can fit 1.5 cm of spacers above the low stack headset cap. Includes a.5 and 1cm Colnago headset cap. Some scratches and paint chips consistent with the age of the frame. I tried to get pictures of all the scratches.
The worst areas are the drive side chainstay and the headtube has some cable rub. The chain suck scars go down to the carbon but do not extend into the carbon. The frame also has a paint crack where the headtube and top tube meet. The crack appeared overnight about a year before I quit riding it.
It never got any longer or bigger. I contacted Colnago and they informed me that paint cracks were common in white paint and not a cause for concern. There is a close up picture of the crack.

SINCE MOST PEOPLE. THAT HAVE ONE IN THIS COLOR SCHEME DON'T LIKE TO PART WITH IT! And in all honestly.
I really don't want to part with this one as well. But since it's not the correct size for me. It really doesn't make seance for me to just keep looking at it hanging up on my wall, when someone else out there can actually be enjoying it! SO HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO FINALLY OWN ONE IF YOU'VE BEEN LOOKING!

Paint is bright and shiny and looks good but it does have wear and tear it has chips on top of seattube and bottom bracket edges. I'm pretty honest about condition. Chrome has some tarnish and It has a chip on top of paint tube and a ding as shown in picture. It doesn't affect the ride quality at all I've had it to 56mph descending mt baldy it is very stable and very comfortable as a colnago should be.
Great looking bike despite its imperfections. Great bike for your daily rides and offered at a price well below the 2-3000$ these can go for. If your looking for a carbon colnago check my other listing as I'm also selling.
A colnago EPS in almost new condition. This auction is for a used 2010/2011 Colnago EPS frame/fork/seatpost/stem in excellent condition. Frame size is 54 sloping. Which translates to roughly a 57/58 Traditional. I'm 6 feet tall, so this should fit anybody from 5'10' to 6'2.
I ride a 56cm frame size in Specialized, Cervelo, Trek, Pinarello, etc if that helps you with sizing. The only scratch I can see is a slight nick on the top tube(see pics) The bike handles great and is plenty stiff. Saddle rail to center of bottom bracket measure 28.5 inches. If Buy-it-Now is used I will throw in a matching FSA K-Force compact 44cm handlebar and Colnago carbon fiber bottle cages. The last three pictures show the handlebars, cages and what it looked like built up.
Please review my feedback and feel free to ask questions. This is a size 61 58.5 tt Colnago EPS it is the colnago flagship bike right before the c59 model was introduced. I purchased this new old stock and it is in almost perfect shape no chips or noticeable scratches. I only rode it for about 200 miles. I had a Matt black colnago c59 previously in the same size and this rides identical very stiff and confidence inspiring. Only blemish is a scuffed area on carbon bottom bracket shell from when chain fell off. You can see it in picture.
But is hidden once crank is installed. Otherwise it looks great. Listing includes frame fork headset and aftermarket carbon seat post.

Colnago Bikes Usa Colnago Frames
Should be on one of the rear dropouts. Those probably aren't even serial numbers. No one has been able to figure out what they are exactly.OTOH, at some point in the 80's (if memory serves) Colnago did begin using serial numbers, so a late 80's, early 90's frame may have one. I just don't know where there's a data base that would make sense of it.
Note that those numbers start appearing on dropouts by the early 70's at least. At that time, it was common for Italian frames to dispense with SN's - De Rosa and Masi, to name two, didn't use them either. Here's my Colnago Master Piu (acquired recently.likely from a reader of this forum).patiently waiting its turn in line to get built up.
Colnago Frame Serial Number Decoder
The rear deraileur side dropout is stamped 'Colnago' and '1D041'.FWIW, weeks ago, I located a post on the net (not sure if it was this site or not.but I copied it to my computer files as reference material) showing a Colnago rear deraileur side dropout with serial number 8E791. A reader guessed it was a 1988 model, stating 'That serial number format is fairly common in the bicycle industry.
Typically the first number represents the year, the letter represents the month and the remaining numbers are the sequence. So, the 79th frame of May 1988 would be my educated guess.' So, is it possible that the oringinal poster's serial number starts with a zero, not the letter 'Oh'. In that case, it might be dated 1990. Compare the style to mine.could they be one year apart?
Though I can provide additional close up photos to help a fellow aficionado of classic era Italian bicycles, I can let you know right now that my bottom bracket cut out is quite different from that on the original post.mine is a cut out shaped like the Colnago logo. Then, to pose a question in exchange for my entertaining photo post, can anyone confirm that Colnago manufactured Master Piu frames in 1991? Also, I recall reading on the Internet that the Piu frames might have been a European model, not imported to the U.S.
Can anyone confirm this point as well? Here's my Colnago Master Piu (acquired recently.likely from a reader of this forum).patiently waiting its turn in line to get built up.

Compare the style to mine.could they be one year apart? Thanks, I've not received the frame yet but when it comes in I'll be able to tell if it's a zero or an 'o'. Looks like the numbering system that I passed on doesn't hold up according to this e-bay post regarding the pictured Master Piu frame:Q: Please tell me what year Colnago made this? Thank you Dec-15-08A: Hello, who sold me this frame is sure that it is before first model of Olympic frame ( Olympic was made on 1988 for the firs time ) so this MASTER PIU' is around 1986-1987. This is what he told me, and he is a great expert of Colnago and knows Ernesto personally.
Command and conquer generals steam. Thanks for asking, AlessandroSo, per the quotes shown above from the e-bay listing, a potential buyer 'Q:' asks the year of manufacture and the seller 'A:' says that a great expert of Colnago dates it to 1986-1987. The look of the graphics is the same as my Master Piu, though mine is not the 'Decor' style paint scheme. I'd guess from this evidence, mine would also date to 1986-1987.
Frankly, not that it matters to me, I'm surprised mine is so old, I really thought it was a 1991 vintage simply because it looks so new. It's amazing that such beautiful frames could last so long in NOS condition without being built up and ridden.
ColnagoColnago, arguably the most desired brand on the planet, has been producing race winning frames for the best cyclists in the world for over 50 years. What began in a humble workshop in Cambiago, Italy is now known globally as the quintessential, race-bred bicycle. Many critics consider the Colnago brand to lie on the traditional side of the frame design spectrum. While this may hold true to a certain extent, it should not be ignored that Colnago was one of the first high end frame manufacturers to research and ultimately employ carbon fiber in their designs.Today they continue to assemble the world's best carbon and steel road bikes by hand in their Cambiago factory. Much can be said about the Colnago paint workshop, which produces the most sensational and memorable color schemes on the road today. Unlike other bicycle companies, Colnago offers their best frames in a host of color choices, ranging from elegant to audacious!
If you don't see your desired color scheme listed, ask a Wrench Science specialist about getting a custom job from Colnago. At Wrench Science, we love Colnago bikes for their rich heritage and profound cyclo-wisdom, but also for the smooth, confidence-inspiring handling of every machine they produce. This 'true' steering is related to the straight-fork front end geometry and proportionately short top tube plus long stem combination, which altogether produce a thrilling cornering experience at top speeds. With a Colnago bike, you'll find yourself bombing through descents and pedaling fully through corners at higher speeds than ever before. This is not unlike the way one can confidently drive a Ferrari at 90 mph with just one hand on the wheel (though we can't officially condone such behavior!).An additonal quality that Ernesto Colnago can boast most about his frames is the International Organization of Standardization 9001 certification that Colnago’s manufacturing process was granted in 1998. ISO is the globally recognized standard of quality that is shared across a wide spectrum of products throughout the world.
Colnago Road Bike Frames
Colnago is one of only a few in the entire cycling industry to have ISO 9001 certification.Heritage, true-world race refinement and attention to quality are all aspects of the Colnago racing bicycle. From humble beginnings and through hard work, all the while with a deep respect for time-proven technology, Colnago has been successful in consistently providing professionals with the most reliable tools for their trade while simultaneously being able to offer the same machines to cycling enthusiasts of all levels. When you want the best, choose Colnago.Ernesto Colnago began his relationship with the cycling world when, at the age of 12, he served as an apprentice in the workshop of craftsman Dante Fumagalli.
Ernesto later tried his hand at amateur racing and was fairly successful until he broke his leg at the end of the 1951 Milano-Busseto Classic. Bed-ridden due to his accident, Colnago began building wheels, which in turn gave him the idea of starting his own business. Colnago would then go on to open his own shop and later wrench for the Italian national and various professional teams. He later would begin to build frames and even be the first person to cold-forge the fork blades of a bicycle fork. One of the most memorable springboards for Colnago’s fame in the cycling community came in 1972 when Eddy Merckx established the new hour record (49.431km) aboard a bike built by Colnago. Over the years, the hour record distance was pushed further and further, with advances in technology aiding the riders. In 1994, Tony Rominger made two record-breaking assaults on the hour aboard a Colnago, with a final mark of 55.291km.By 2000, technology was overshadowing athleticism in the hour record.
The Union Cycliste International then set new equipment standards for any attempt on the hour record and honored Merckx’ 1972 Colnago-borne distance as the mark to beat. In the 80s and 90s Colnago would continue to refine his racing geometry and frame material use by the sponsorship and, more importantly, the intimate relationships he developed with numerous teams including Team SCIC, Del Tongo, Clas-Cajastur, Mapei, Rabobank and most recently Team Milram.
Since 1974 there have been over 5000 pro wins on Colnago bicycles.
